Pentecost Sunday is the day that Jesus fulfils his promise to his disciples. Jesus said that he would not leave us orphans, so when he left our world he breathed his own life into us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, as a concept, might be difficult to get across to the children. How does the Holy Spirit manifest itself in your life? It is the Holy Spirit who lives in us, guides and helps us to live the gospel from age to age, and, because he is the Lord and giver of life and of wisdom, we know that the church will always be guided in the spirit of Jesus. Currently we have 57 Grade 6 children within our parish that are preparing to receive the Holy Spirit during the Sacrament of Confirmation. Jesus will breathe his life into them as they become adult members of God's family. Please keep them in your prayers.
