News from the Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,

We recently received notification that we had received funding through The Australian Government’s Student Wellbeing Boost, This initiative provides one-off funding to schools to address the impacts of COVID-19 on the mental health and wellbeing of Australian students.

We have decided to partner with The Resilience Project. The Resilience Project program aims to build resilience and happiness. This program focuses on promoting positive emotion, specifically; Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness, as well as Emotional Literacy.

The program has a whole school approach, working with the school community including teachers, students, and parents. The program is delivered through a series of digital presentations, webinars and a curriculum that is specifically aligned to Victorian standards.

We are very excited to be involved in this project and look forward to sharing more about it with you.

Green and Gold Day - Wednesday 16th August

We are all so amazed by the efforts of our Australian soccer team, the Matildas. The children were buzzing with chatter on Monday morning sharing their excitement of Saturday night’s thriller against France. To show our support for the team, on Wednesday, the children may wear a touch of green and gold with their normal school uniform. Some ideas include a headband, hair ribbon, badge, hat or scarf.

This is not footy colours day, so we ask that students refrain from wearing their footy or soccer jersey. Footy Colours day is at the end of term and we welcome students to wear their team colours at this time.

Pie Drive

Don’t forget to order your delicious pies from Yarragon Bakery! Orders can be made through CDFpay and must be in by 10pm tonight. Thank you to our Parent and Friends Group for organising this fundraiser for the school.

Feast of the Assumption

Pope Francis said “that Mary's witness is a reminder to praise God each day, as the Mother of God did in her Magnificat prayer in which she exclaimed: "My soul glorifies the Lord."

If, like Mary, we remember the great things that the Lord does, if at least once a day we 'magnify', we glorify God, then we take a great step forward ... our hearts will expand, joy will increase”.
