Sunday’s readings remind us that God's love and invitation is for all people. God's call is for us, but also for the people of every nation. All of the readings speak of the inclusiveness of God's call: Gentile or Jew, male or female, God's call goes out to all. So, who are we to discriminate on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, age, social status... ? If we want to help build the kingdom of God then we need to move out of our ‘comfort zone’ occasionally and reach out to those who have been rejected for one reason or another. We talked to the children about treating everyone with respect, and not judging people based on their religion, race, nationality or how attractive or rich they are. But rather, we reminded the children that each and every one of us is a beloved child of God. All are invited, all are welcome.
