News from the Principal
Dear Parents, Guardian and Carers,
The staff and students of St Michael’s Primary school invite past and present students, parents and staff to join us as we farewell staff who will be leaving our school community at the end of 2024.
Our retiring staff:
Mrs Sue Hill who commenced her career at St Michael’s in 1981.
Mrs Debbie Gilmour who commenced her career at St Michael’s in 2000.
Mrs Catherine Taylor who commenced her career at St Michael’s in 2017.
We will also farewell the following staff members who are moving on to new opportunities:
Mrs Jodie Ware
Mrs Louise Clarke
Mrs Sharon Dortmans
Mrs Katie Calabrese
We will gather for our end of year school mass on Friday 6th December at 9:30 am and this will be followed by a morning tea in the hall where our leaving staff will be the guests of honour. At the end of recess, all current staff and students will gather in the hall for a special assembly. We hope many of our current and past school community will join us for this occasion.
At the end of 2024, we also say a goodbye to Miss Katilin Vacca and Miss Phoebe Trembath who are both taking 12 months leave to pursue exciting new experiences. We hope to see both Kaitlin and Phoebe back at St Michael’s in 2026.
Change to Stationery orders in 2025
As a school we have made the decision to not send booklists home this year largely due to the closure of our regular supplier, Seymour Street newsagency. The teachers will be doing bulk orders of all supplies required by the children in their classrooms for 2025, therefore parents are not required to purchase stationery for their children next year. These will be ready for the children when school commences.
Student success
Jack Brady recently received the MCC Clay Target Shooting encouragement award in memory of John Marshall. This was presented in the Committee Room at the MCG and he has his name on a trophy which is displayed in the entrance at gate 2. This is a result of the excellent results Jack has received throughout this year.
Kind regards
Jodie
